Welcome to
Jacqueline Livingston's Photo Journal:
a photographic account of the artist's life in recent years
The self-portrait above, titled "Self-Portrait MOMA Cafeteria", places me in the cafeteria-style restaurant at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The photo was taken with the assistance of my husband, Leo Brissette, Sunday, July 2, 2006. I appreciate the cafeteria setting since it pays homage to my mother's occupation of necessity--cafeteria worker and later Manager of Chandler Elementary School Cafeteria. She became a widow at the age of forty four, when I was thirteen. She supported herself, my sister and I by working in a school cafeteria for nearly twenty years after my father's death.
This website continues with recent work from my ongoing photo journal.
To see more of my art go to my other website www.jacquelinelivingston.com, where I present: 1) family photographs from my childhood and teenage years, 2) early artistic endeavors, and 3) a chronology of my 45 year career as a photographic artist, punctuated by controversy and devastating censorship.
